Tim the Broom Maker

On this date in 1787, Tim the broom maker appeared before the Continental Congress.  Tim argued that neighbors who killed his pig, after he gave a speech denouncing General Washington, had violated his freedom of speech.  The Congress ordered his tongue cut out.

hahaha, the truth about what happened during that period is rather incredible, and understandable. Depending on your neighbors, and their feelings toward the crown, they would burn your farm, or vice versa. Most of this came to an end after the war when the Tories (crown loyalists) packed their shit and moved to Canada. Staying put just wasn't an option. Ah for the good old days.

And oddly enough, he was Tim Robbins, the broom maker.
