"The EU's highest court has ruled in the case of northern Italy's famous salty Parma ham.I have to say this, or I won't sleep tonight (even though history shows that Europeans living in Europe are about the dumbest people on Earth), DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR GUNS. YOU WILL NEED THEM VERY SOON. |
But I don't have any guns yet, because no one has found one for me on gunfinder.com!
How hard should it really be to get my hands on one of these?
Posted by: Spoons on May 30, 2003 02:10 PMShouldn't be hard at all. Do you want a .45 ACP for personal protection or competition?
Posted by: Rodger Schultz on May 31, 2003 07:16 AMI know it shouldn't be hard, but no one has responded to my gunfinder thingy yet.
This will be a multipurpose gun. Home defense, hobby shooting, and if I get any good, maybe some competition. If I were just getting for home defense, I'd get a 12 ga. If my state had CCWs, I might get something smaller (although I'm probably big enough to conceal the 1911).
Posted by: Spoons on May 31, 2003 10:49 AMI suggest signing up for the Bullseye-L discussion group. I know many who buy and sell their .22 or 45s on this site. Most important, if you ask a question you're likely to get a ton of replies, somee actually good. My advice would be to go to a gunshop and buy a used .45 ACP for $350-450. When, and if, you get ready to compete, you will pay the same $ to get it accurized as someone who paid $800 foe a new one from Springfield armory. In the meanwhile it will stop any perp in his tracks.
Posted by: Rodger Schultz on May 31, 2003 12:09 PMI'd be more likely to be interested in practical shooting competitions, so I don't think I'd need nuthin' too fancy. I've gotten a lot of advice to avoid used guns unless I REALLY know what I'm doing, and I don't figure I'm quite there yet.
I got a guy who's willing to sell me a new blued model for $599. It's a fantastic price, but I'm concerned about rust and would rather haver the parkerized or stainless. The parkerized model also comes with the night sites, which I would also like to have.
Posted by: Spoons on May 31, 2003 06:33 PMReal men wear long leather coats (a la Michael in La Femme Nikita) so you can conceal your Barrett .50.
