Cruz Bustalini ... again

Bill Clinton's defense for breaking several campaign laws in 1996 was that  "he had to do it to save the country. .. the stakes were too high."  How so?  If  he was defeated, the Republicans would, presumably, destroy America.   After several denials [lies], George Stephanopoulos, confronted with admissions from Clinton cabinet members , admitted the campaign had lied about a 1992 campaign promise to cut taxes.  "We had to, the stakes were too high."  Bob Bartley recently noted, Democrats have the privilege of being the "best people: the most intelligent and informed, the most public spirited, the most morally pure," in their own minds. Which is how, I reckon, Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante can tell a judge to go fuck himself, and suffer absolutely no consequences.  How nice for him. Hopefully Bustamante will be asking "do you want fries with that?" pretty soon.
