Not to be a know-it-all or anything but the tomato is in the tobacco family. My very Italian husband will not let me near our tomato plants because I smoke and I can spread some wierd tobacco virus to them.
He doesn't seem to care about my tobacco plants if I tend to them after eating tomatoes though......hmmmmmm

Hmmm/ Years ago, when we lived in Maryland tobacco country (Prince George County) I had a devil of a time growing tomatoes because of tobacco worm infestations. I guess that's why.
