Yesterday's New York Times ran a piece
called, "Kerry's
Other 'Band of Brothers," which turned out to be throwaway space
filler. I thought at first it might be about Yale's Dixwell
Society. Who dat you ask? Remember the "Ancient Mystic Society of No
Homers?" It was founded by members of The
Stonecutters, who wanted nothing more to do with Homer
Simpson. Here's the
poop on Dixwell -- "In order to get back at Kerry, members of the [Yale's] Liberal Party formed the Dixwell Society. By now, the group is largely defunct, although it still officially meets during Liberal Party reunions and its story gets retold for everyone wishing to hear. The society's major point was to include every former chairmen except one who most people disliked. You can guess who."Okay, so Trotsky was expelled by Uncle Joe. Here's the question for any liberal hugger-muggers who may stop by. Let's say George Bush had ... you get the point, right? In that instance there would have been a NYT article titled, "Bush's Other band of Brothers." Eh wot. |
Yeah, but what about the John Forbes Kerry opium inheritance that saved his Democratic Party nomination fight when dollars were short. He inherited 4 trust funds from Forbes family wealth in 2002 when mother died. Those trusts were built originally with money from China trade dealing opium, so much that Kerry's grandfather James Grant Forbes was born in China (later live with Rosemary Forbes Kerry in Paris and France on wealth) and his father was an opium dealer and poppy botanist, etc. with cousing John Murray Forbes. Interesting stuff!
