A stopover for McCain before Cocytus?

Sunday
During the March 7 appearance in studio by McCain, Stephanopoulos played a clip from his November 28, 2002 show in which he asked McCain about being Kerry’s running mate. He rejected the idea then and did so again: “I do not intend to leave the Republican Party.”
Stephanopoulos pleaded: “But a lot of Democrats think this is the dream ticked. So there’s no chance you’ll re-consider?”
McCain: “I cannot envision the scenario, George, as I say it’s flattering but no [mumble], leave the Republican Party.”  - MRC
Wednesday

McCain said he would consider the unorthodox step of running for vice president on the Democratic ticket — in the unlikely event he received such an offer from the presidential candidate. - AP

Random Thoughts - McCain is a dumb bastard, because he doesn't learn. Lionized by the press in 2000 - because he was a fractious element in the Republican party, capable of destabilizing Bush's candidacy - he was later invited to address  "independent Democrats"  while the 2000 Democratic Convention was in progress.  He was booed off the stage.  Jerk. That aside, he is almost single-handedly responsible for destroying of the First Amendment, via the so called "Campaign Finance Reform  Act."  For that, no punishment would be too harsh for McCain.  None. McCain sponsored that legislation to ameliorate - he thinks - his part in the Keating bribery affair.  I'm thinking that he might indulge himdelf again with Kerry, because many of the vets who are after the Frenchman  -for siding with the the North Vietnamese - also accuse McCain of doing just that during his stay in the Hanoi Hilton.  Anyway, McCain is a loose cannon, and Kerry is welcome to him. McCain would cause Kerry the same problem that a V.P. candidate Olympia Snowe would cause Bush.

I'll bet this is the first use of the term "Cocytus" in a blog.

(uh, it's a tributary of the river, Acheron, in Greek mythology)

Also, found in the 9th ring of hell.

"Cocytus" isn't in the Bible... not that I can find... not in the KJV, anyway.

Dante, Doug, Dante.

Yeah, I know. Okay, I reckon Dante's mythology counts, too.

It's just that I get confused when these ol' guys invent their own theology by recyclin' pagan myth and passin' it off as biblical. Burn the heretic!

Styx in my craw. Sigh.

McCain's philosophy on money and corruption is pure Leftist pap. He espouses that money corrupts politicians...not that corruptable politicians are thusly corrupted. He blames the sympton, not the cause. He suffers from a lack of "personal responsibility bias".

Let us not forget that McCain is owned by Americans for Gun Safety (motto: "We'll make gun ownership so fraught with rules that it won't be worth the trouble").

First thing I do when I get back to the U.S. is go to a gun show.

McCain is also supposedly going after Media Watch, Moveon.org, et al....the 527's & Soros. If that's true, he's not all bad.
