Morning coffee

Random Thoughts
  • My gut reaction is, there comes a time when one just has to  take his chances.
  • Mexican and Canadian entries are excepted.  Duh.
  • How about just the French?
  • Would I object to this procedure myself ?  No, not if it was done instantly, and without getting ink on my fingers.  That's because my travel experience is limited to watching movies where Americans surrender their passports at every hotel they stay in, and Peter Lorrie follows you around the whole time.
  • Would this have prevented 9-11?  Moot point.  We're awake (some of us), and this is a new ball game.
  • Am I willing to surrender foreigner's rights.  Yes.
  • Would there be a Senate Blame Commission asking why we had not done this after some Muslimo with a British accent murdered 100,000 people, maybe including  people I love?  You Betcha.
  • Will the filthy bastards who hate the United States (including many who live here) use this as another example of Bush, the fascist?  Of course.  But they don't need an excuse for that anyway.
  • Still ....

I am for it.

The process takes 20 seconds because they photograph the face and the hand.

The liberation of Iraq has convinced the Arab nations to go after Al-Qaida so they are pouring into Europe for refuge. Consequently, our greatest threat of terrorism comes from passengers arriving from Europe.

Many countries require you to surrender your passport to the hotel at least 1 night. The police can come in at night and check your passport and enter your location in their computers. Thus they track your moves throughout your stay in their country.

Richard Reid, the would-be Shoe Bomber, was a Brit.

The Brit police just uncovered a terrorist group which had half a ton of ammonium nitrate tucked away.

'Nuff said.

If the Brits were more careful with their "political asylum" policy, this wouldn't be necessary.

"Tony Blair will fly to the United States next week to ask George W. Bush, the president, to delay for a year the introduction of fingerprint and photograph checks on British visitors to the US."

Why? So some can get some plastic work done?

Amazing, everytime that Blair goes running to GWB to do something for him someone else gets screwed.
Just look at his roadmap for example.

I think GWB should remember those Guantanamo internees who were let loose in London recently, and the flag burners in the mosques last week.
Don't want them in the US.
