Gameboys

The other Kerry with a dubious Vietnam past is "not satisfied with testimony" given by Condoleezza Rice yesterday.  Basically, he seems to have wanted Condi to splay-leggedly admit, "If Al Gore had been president, none of this would have happened." Anything good that comes out of this 9-11 commission will be accidental.  Remember, people with the same political DNA blamed local commanders in Hawaii, Admiral Kimmel and General  Short, for Pearl Harbor.  It's a game.

Someone else has actuallyheard of Kimmel and Short? Not Jimmy nor Martin? Cool!

What happened to the shapely "comment butt?"

This "commission" is laughable in its' intent, which is of course to see how much "face" time they can get on TV. If they were really interested in finding the truth and making recommendations it would all be behind closed doors. Kerry's performance yesterday didn't border stupid, it was stupid, in talking about the Cole incident which happened prior to this administration taking office and then called Dr. Rice "Dr Clark" not once but twice!!

I don't remember Kimmel and Short but my son does. Here is reality. There was no other threat in the Pacific other than Japan. Japan was waging balls out war against China, had articulated a Pan Asia policy, and the Rape of Nanking was well known. I once did research where I used papers published six months prior to Pearl Harbor. Font page every day was something about Japan and what they were doing. Kimmel and Short were absolutely guilty of negligence. There is no similarity between then and now, other than Americans did not want to know. If you will check our media six months prior to 9/11 you'll find they contained NOTHING about alQaeda, or Bin Ladin. Roosevelt was not guilty about Pearl, although his policies certainly contributed, but after the well publicized atrocities committed by the Japanese cutting off their oil was the least we could have done.

That reminds me of last nights South Park episode where John Edwards (the pyschic not the Senator) was nominated for Douche Of The Universe, was picked up by aliens, and won the award over other aliens.

Howard is right. Kimmel and Short were negligent.

The entire Pacific fleet was docked in Pearl Harbor. At a minimum there should have been constant air and sea surveillance sweeps around Hawaii. There were none.

I went on the Pearl Harbor tour this winter and I was shocked to learn that all the battleships were docked within 30 ft of each other that Sunday. Plus the harbor contained over 70 other warships. A few remaining ones were out training. There was no way the Japanese could have failed.

So Roger, your sentence should read:

Remember, people with the same political DNA helped Vidkun Quisling turn Norway over to the Nazis.
