The Devil made us do it

Fred Wertheimer, head of public scold Common Cause [reports Brit Hume, on his 'Grapevine' segment], questioned whether the DNC should get the $15 million in gummint money for their convention if John Kerry delayed accepting the nomination (he has since decided to deep-six that loony idea).  But, says Wertheimer, "George Bush started all this when he decided to turn down federal matching funds."

Just  once - ONCE! is that too much? - I'd like to hear a Democrat acknowledge a mistake without, ultimately, placing the blame on a Republican.

Fred Wertheimer-another "public spirited citizen" who has gotten wealthy by starting a left-wing "public interest group".

Poor Kerry ;o( we should pass the hat around for him... NOT!

The one thing that really drives a left wing-nut liberal up the wall, absolutely crazy, is for anyone to turn down federal money. After all, they have so much of it to give out.

But passing the buck is their superpower! Would you tell the Wonder Twins not to activate?!?

Heck, Rodg, the Democrats blamed Republicans for the Civil War...
before Lincoln was even innaugerated!

It's a Democrat tradition to blame Republicans or anyone with an anti-communist view for their mistakes, that's what happens when you live within a lie. They've been at this since 1933.

So what was his beef? That he was trying to shame Kerry into also not accepting Federal matching funds?
